Service Managers Get Back to Basics
Biennial event keeps dealer network one step ahead
“Back to Basics” was the theme for this year’s Service Managers Meeting, held in San Diego, California at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina. The meeting was a good opportunity to discuss industry trends, reconnect with the dealer network, and have a little fun. Four different vendors held breakout sessions to talk about common service issues. Some of the topics discussed were – proper service procedures for a repair, what to look for in order to prevent problems, and what failures the dealers are noticing. Guest speaker Jeff Gee talked about Super Service™. He said, “flip the switch in our minds to continuously Inspire, Enlighten and Thrive – curing ourselves of the IKTA (I Know That Already) disease which breeds complacency.” In addition, Jeff Bennett, Vice President of Engineering and Product Development, spoke about Utility’s R&D facility, and how rigorous testing improves trailer quality and reduces product failure. Service managers were able to watch videos of testing and see firsthand when failures occur. “This was an important event for service managers to connect with each other and our vendors, and to evoke best practices. It was also important for the managers to hear that Utility Trailer Manufacturing is committed to their success and their customers’ ongoing satisfaction,” said Bennett. “Service excellence and long-term trailer performance is one of our top priorities.”
