Load-Dividing Bulkhead Maximizes Thermal Efficiency

The Utility 3000R® multi-temp reefer’s latest performance-boosting option is the new Load-Dividing Bulkhead from Cargobull North America. The moveable track-mounted bulkhead enhances energy efficiency and allows for flexible temperature management by enabling different compartments with varying temperatures and volume capacity.

The unique and key feature of the Cargobull bulkhead is its efficient sealing system. Once positioned and secured with its locking lever, the side and bottom gasket around the bulkhead wall expand against the trailer walls, floor & ceiling, forming an airtight seal that preserves the optimal temperature within the compartment. The seals retract upon opening to automatically equalize pressure.

“There are no logistics tracks required with the Cargobull bulkhead, which significantly reduces the air flow & thermal transfer between compartments,” stated Steve Bennett, President & COO for Utility. “This has allowed customers like Kroger to reduce the two rows of logistics track from 53 feet to 20 feet, resulting in a substantial thermal improvement.”

The adjustable load-dividing bulkhead also adds flexibility and versatility for our customers. With multiple temperature zones, thermal efficiency is optimized by adjusting the volume of space that requires cooling for partial loads. Easy to operate and secure, the sliding-lock brake engages automatically when the wall hinges up or down. The angle-dependent brake eliminates the need for additional locking mechanisms or driver intervention. Made with a FERROPLAST® steel skin, the Cargobull load-dividing bulkhead adds extra durability and resists water ingress.

The Cargobull load-dividing bulkhead is an optional feature that integrates with the 3000R equipped with a Cargobull transport refrigeration unit (TRU). This addition enhances the trailer’s efficiency and adaptability while also improving energy efficiency for the Cargobull TRU.
