New Salesmen Seminar lays the groundwork for success
Utility Trailer provides the knowledge to help new sales representatives gain an edge
New salespeople represent future sales opportunities and business growth for Utility Trailer and every Utility dealer. That’s why Utility Trailer developed the New Salesmen Seminar – a product-training course to help new salespeople understand what makes Utility unique in the industry. The goal is to give new salespeople the product knowledge and manufacturing insights in order to provide a customer with the information necessary to make the best trailer decision.
Held in Virginia, 38 salespeople from 24 dealer locations were in attendance, including 5 from Canada. Spread over three days, the meetings began with an introduction to Utility’s business philosophy and leadership role in the trailer industry. Sessions were held on every trailer in Utility’s product line, highlighting product strengths and customer benefits. Utility’s Marketing Manager Brett Olsen, Eastern Regional Sales Manager Steve King and Director of Marketing Larry Roland were among those that led training sessions and plant tours.
Two manufacturing plant tours were essential parts of the Virginia trip. The first was a tour of the Marion plant to see how a Utility reefer is assembled, and the second was a tour of the Glade Spring dry van plant. “We know these tours provide valuable insight into technologies that make a Utility trailer better,” said Roland. “Seeing is believing, and belief becomes confidence, and confidence translates to better business and more sales.”
