On November 26, 1979, Clarence “Ed” Chambless began his career at Utility as Foreman in the Material Control Department at the old California plant. Ed transferred to the Tautliner® Division facility in June 1989. Since then, Ed remained in the Tautliner Division managing Utility’s curtainside products. By 2001, Ed transferred to the sales department to become the Curtainside Products Division Manager as well as overseeing the sales of Utility’s flatbed line of products.
“Ed has been an integral part of Utility’s rapid growth, and we thank him for his many years of dedication,” said Craig Bennett, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing for Utility. “He will be truly missed, and we wish him all the best on his well deserved retirement.”
Prior to working at Utility, Ed served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot and earned a purple heart. He is a 6 degree black belt in karate shodokan and an instructor for rape crisis prevention. Ed had begun his retirement at the beginning of 2015. He will continue to volunteer with the Patriot Guard Riders which honors fallen military heroes, first responders, and veterans during memorial services.
Andy Lopez is now the main sales contact for Flatbed and Tautliner, while Linda Baker continues to manage the Tautliner Division.
